GeneralIn order to become a member of this forum, you must adhere to the laws henceforth. The staff members may be merciful to an extent, but continued disturbances brought on by not following the rules will be met with penalties up to and possibly including perma-ban. Penalties will be given on a case to case basis depending on how severe the rule breaking is, how many times rules have been broken, and contributions to the forum as a whole. Please note that spamming in any boards not specific to spamming (and I assure you, you will find none) will immediately be met with a ban on said spammer. The staff prefers to leave this roleplay open to people of all ages, however we would like for you to note that people under the age of 15 may not find this content suitable (guns war and whatnot). Also, we would much prefer a certain command over the English language that will allow our posters to post much more than just a sentence or two. This is NOT a strict requirement, however continued use of very short responses will be met with a warning. In addition, all responses should make sense, so double check your posts to be sure. The following are a few more rules you will need to know. Please read them carefully. If there are any rules you feel need to be added, please make your case by sending me a message rather than posting on this board. Terms you might want to know: IC: In Character OOC: Out of Character PB: Posted Back ---- Still have a question? Please feel free to ask one of your wonderful and loving staff members.

Character Conduct
-Please be mindful of the culture surrounding the roleplay environment that we have created for you. Your characters can go where they will and interact with whomever you would like, however there is a specific set of cultural rules and traditions that must be adhered to depending on which race you play.
-Please refer back to your original profile if needed. While you're not expected to remember every wrinkle in your characters face, the facts that you post in profile are to be followed. That means that if Jane has a troubled past as is distrusting of aliens, then she is to be distrusting of aliens until some character development ensues. DO NOT make me read back to you what you wrote about your own character. I do read all of the profiles and will make sure you follow yours.
-Please remember that your characters are not Gods. You do not have the power to hit another player every time, nor do you have the ability to dodge every attack. Travel requires more effort than just popping into whatever location conveniently on a whim.
-No God-modding. You are not all powerful, you do not hit all the time, and you do not get one hit kills. Among other things, this rule basically means to not make your character invincible.
-No Metagaming. The out of character counterpart to godmodding, it's an action taken by the player that has no basis other than OOC information.
Examples of Metagaming:
-Billy Bob's character has a knife, Joe learns that Billy Bob's character has a knife, suddenly Joe's character has a knife too.
-An unfinished duel.
-Extorting another member OOCly to make their character do things IC that they normally wouldn't do which that are against that character's nature.
-Saying a character's name in character dialogue without one's own character learning it prior.
-Learning information OOC and applying it IC without your character learning it on its own. Examples of metagaming lovingly extracted from the copyrighted forum of Cruinthe War.

Your (OOC) Conduct
-If an Administrator or Moderator tells you to do something, do it. Any arguments or bad behavior as a result of this will end with a warning or a possible ban. If you feel that their ruling is out of line, let them know so politely.
-Do not argue out of character in the forums please. If you take issue with something someone has said or done, please locate a friendly staff member and inform them by message so that the situation can be dealt with accordingly.
-Arguing in chat also follows the aforementioned rule. Contact your Admins or Mods.
-If you feel that something has been said against you, then please contact an Administrator or a Mod. Even if another instigated the argument in question, your participation in the argument will not be tolerated and met with a warning.
-We expect all of our members to be mature and understanding regarding all issues including constructive criticism. If you do not feel that you need to get better at writing, then you do not belong here.
-Do not act as if you are above anyone else in this site. Those who are happen to be the Admins and Mods. Do what they say.
-When posting, make yourself clear and concise.
-When posting, please type more than a few lines of pointless, arbitrary, drivel. Give others something to work with, whether that be some gritty dialog or something as simple as your character staring off into space. Someone is bound to notice and comment on it.
-The subject matter of your posts may be detailed, hardcore, gory, and dripping with curse words. Your posts may be sexually charged and dark. But being downright pornographic and insulting will not be tolerated. Please keep your characters' actions with others as well as their own thoughts on a rated PG-13 level(due to Proboards TOS). With everything else, go as detailed as you feel a need to be.
-Spamming is not tolerated even in the slightest.
-Do not rush your posts. Do not be lazy. If you feel that you're pressed for time, and cannot make a detailed post, hold off until you've more time to consider what you're actually writing. More often, people will be less angry at you if you take a bit longer than to give them a terrible piece of work.
